Announcing the Philanthropitch Austin 2018 Finalists
Philanthropitch is thrilled to announce six of the seven nonprofit finalists that will go on to pitch at the LBJ Auditorium on May 8th. Finalists include half Helen Foundation, VentureLab, Code2College, College Forward, AIDS Services of Austin, and Generation Citizen.
Half Helen Foundation and AIDS Services of Austin join our first ever health track powered by St. David's Foundation that supports health and wellness focused nonprofits.
Check back soon to hear who will take the seventh and final finalist spot, chosen by United Way of Greater Austin’s Click for the Cause. Starting April 9, you’ll be able to vote daily on a winning community solution.
Presented by Google, Philanthropitch Austin sets the stage for socially innovative organizations to showcase their ability to scale and sustain programs through innovative, revenue-generating models. Each nonprofit will be awarded donations and community support based on the quality of their pitch and ability to create innovative solutions that better serve our community.

half Helen Foundation (hH) exists to improve children's vision and hearing through innovative screenings, research, and advocacy. In children and adolescents, undiagnosed vision and hearing impairments are among top indicators of low academic performance.They aim to increase access to preventive screening services in order to catch problems before they worsen.
The mission of Code2College is to dramatically increase the number of girls, underrepresented students of color, and low-income students who enter STEM undergraduate programs and careers.
No matter a student’s age, background, or experiences, VentureLab believes they have the power to change the world.
VentureLab is building a movement to spread the entrepreneurial mindset around the world to empower youth with the tools needed to become the next generation of innovators and changemakers. Their mission is to enable and inspire anyone to utilize their open-access youth entrepreneurship curriculum to unlock student potential and prepare youth, especially girls, to succeed in technical, creative, and entrepreneurial fields.
Generation Citizen (GC) works to ensure that every student in the United States receives an effective civics education, which provides them with the knowledge and skills necessary to participate in our democracy as active citizens.
They envision a country of young people working as active and effective citizens to collectively strengthen our American democracy.
College Forward's mission is to coach underserved, motivated students to achieve the benefits of higher education and a college degree. Their vision is to lead by building and sharing the most effective, most efficient, and most exciting college access and completion programs in the country by 2018.
The mission of AIDS Services of Austin is to enhance the health and well-being of the community and people affected by HIV and AIDS. Their vision is to create an empowered community committed to healthier lives, free from stigma, for people affected by HIV and AIDS.

There are a number of corporate teams attending Philanthropitch. Collectively they will evaluate the finalist pitches, along with our expert panel of judges, to decide which nonprofits receive their business funds on stage during a branded check presentation. With their support, we are able to increase the overall giving amount.
